Two drug personalities busted
Two drug personalities listed as high value individuals are now facing charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after they were caught in a separate buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio and Benguet on July 18, 2022.
Citing the reports submitted to PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Chester Abellera Lopez, 26 and Leo Suyat Bumatay, 32.
In Brgy. Betag, La Trinidad, suspect Chester was arrested by the joint operatives of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station (MPS) and PDEA-CAR after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.15 grams and a standard drug price (SDP) of Php 1,020.00.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation conducted at Brgy. Kayang, Baguio City, suspect Leo was arrested by the joint operatives of BCPO Legarda Police Station (PS5), BCPO Abanao Police Station (PS7) and City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Baguio CPO after he sold one (1) plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 0.5 grams and an SDP of Php 3,400.00.
Markings and inventories of the pieces of evidence recovered were done on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by the representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), barangay officials, and media representatives.
The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought into the custody of the concerned operating units for documentation and proper disposition.
Director of PNP Civil Security Group welcomed
The Police Regional Office Cordillera warmly welcomed the PNP Director of Civil Security Group, PMGEN JESUS D CAMBAY, JR in a program coinciding with the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on July 18, 2022.
PMGEN JESUS D CAMBAY, JR graced the PROCOR’s Distinguished Visitor Program (DVP) as the distinguished guest of honor and speaker.
During the traditional dance and Arrival Honors Ceremony, PMGEN CAMBAY JR was received by PROCOR Deputy Regional Director for Operations, PCOL BENJAMIN DL SEMBRANO.
As the highlights of the program, six (6) deserving police officers were awarded for their notable contributions and accomplishments. The awards were presented by PMGEN CAMBAY and he was assisted by PROCOR Regional Director, PBGEN RONALD O LEE and the other members of the PROCOR Command Group.
In his message, PMGEN CAMBAY lauded the men and women of PROCOR for living up to its name, “Home of the Most Disciplined Cops”; by following the set of policing standards and keeping the upright leadership & discipline of each police officer.
“Almost 27 years dito ako sa Cordillera, indeed with those 27 years, I fully agree that this is the Home of the most Disciplined Cops. Surely because of our culture, and because of our leaders, our predecessors that set the standard of policing in this part of this country” PMGEN CAMBAY added.
