PROCOR’S OPLAN HERODOTUS 3 CONCLUDED WITH OVER P149M WORTH OF
MARIJUANA DESTROYED
The PRO COR Regional Director announced that the implementation of OPLAN HERODOTUS 3 was successful after a total of Php149,218,092.00 worth of illegal drugs were destroyed and ten (10) drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted from July 16 to 23, 2023.
Citing records from PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), a total of Php149,145,400 worth of Marijuana Plants were discovered and destroyed during the eight-day anti-illegal drugs operations.
The same report disclosed that a total of twenty-nine (29) marijuana eradication operations were conducted by joint operatives of PRO COR, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Cordillera, and the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) SOU destroying a total of 693,615 pcs of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP), 35,560 pcs of Marijuana Seedlings, and 75,000 grams of Dried Marijuana Leaves and Stalks in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga.
Meanwhile, ten (10) drug personalities were arrested after they were caught in possession of a total of 10.69 grams of shabu, with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 72,692.00 after the implementation of separate anti-illegal drugs operations in the City of Baguio and the provinces of Benguet and Abra.
The identified suspects were: Reynato Soriano, 23; Hercules Verzola, 24; Froilan Ringor, 31; Billie Quinto, 31; Wilmer Lizardo, 33; Willyn Sendico, 28; Jaysie Liked, 32; Herceb Cadicoy, 44; Ritchie Delos Reyee, 3; and a 17-year old minor.
It can be recalled that PROCOR previously implemented OPLAN HERODOTUS 1 on September 23–29, 2021, destroying 2,405,350 pcs of FGMJP and 1,640,000 grams of Dried Marijuana, while OPLAN HERODOTUS 2 was conducted on February 23–March 9, 2022, destroying 1,952,435 pcs of FGMJP and 940,869.24 grams of Dried Marijuana.
In his statement, PBGEN PEREDO JR., commended the efforts of the operating units in the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of the region, as there has been a significant reduction in the number of discovered FGMPJP and Dried Marijuana compared to the data from the previous years which implies that the anti- illegal drugs operations efforts proved effective. “We will not put our guards down especially in this war, hand in hand, we will eliminate the drug menace in our region,” BGen. PEREDO uttered.
MANHUNT OPS NETS 63 WANTED PERSONALITIES; 57 MUNICIPALITIES RECORDED ZERO CRIME
As part of PROCOR’s efforts to ensure peace and order in the region, Cordi cops launched simultaneous manhunt operations region-wide that resulted in the arrest of sixty-three (63) individuals, including thirteen (13) most wanted personalities, from July 16 to 22, 2023.
Based on the records of the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) recorded the most number of arrests with eighteen (18) wanted persons apprehended, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with sixteen (16) arrests, Kalinga PPO with nine (9) arrests, Ifugao PPO with six (6) arrests, Abra PPO and Mountain Province PPO with five (5) arrests each, and Apayao PPO with four (4) arrests.
Of the arrested personalities, thirteen (13) individuals were listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP), of which five (5) are listed at the Regional Level, three (3) at the Provincial Level, two (2) each at the City Level and Municipal level, and one (1) at the Station Level.
Meanwhile, as a result of the intensified police presence, fifty-seven (57) municipalities in the different provinces of the region and three (3) police stations in Baguio City remain peaceful, as PROCOR recorded zero crime incidents during the same week.
Zero crime incidents were recorded in twenty-three (23) out of twenty-seven (27) municipalities in Abra; six (6) out of seven (7) municipalities in Apayao; seven (7) out of thirteen (13) municipalities in Benguet; five (5) out of seven (7) municipalities in Kalinga; eight (8) out of eleven (11) municipalities in Ifugao; and eight (8) out of ten (10) municipalities in Mountain Province.
Further, the City Police Stations of Camdas Police Station (PS) 2, Loakan PS4, and Aurora Hill PS6 also recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
