Frustrated murder
At about 6:10 a.m. of September 9, 2018, Nelson Alinso, of legal age, and a resident of Pitpitan, Bayabas, Sablan, Benguet reported to Sablan MPS that at about 6:00 a.m. of said date, a female minor approached him and sought for help claiming that she was thrown below a riprap more or less 10 meters deep.
Initial Investigation revealed that on September 8, 2018, the victim identified as Shania (not her real name), 16 years old, native of Caba, La Union, and a resident of Sevilla, San Fernado City, La Union was invited by her two female friends (name withheld) to join them on a night out. In the morning of September 9, 2018, she was convinced to go with them for a joyride. When they reached Sablan, Benguet, the suspects aided each other in hitting the victim’s head with a stone while their two male companions carried her and threw her down the riprap. However, the victim regained consciousness later and crawled her way up and sought help from Alinso.
The victim was brought to Baguio General Hospital for medical treatment by personnel of Sablan MPS and Sablan-BFP. Case is under investigation.
Acts of lasciviousness
A case of acts of lasciviousness transpired at about 7:00 p.m. of September 9, 2018 at Sitio Kilo, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet. The victim was identified as Roxanne Tomas Sacpa, 20, single, student and a resident of said place while the arrested suspect was identified as Hadjie Suplino Baliwen, 22, single, farmer and a native of Sinto, Bauko, Mountain Province.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was walking along the pathway towards their boarding house located at Sitio Kilo, Caponga, Tublay, Benguet when she saw the suspect. The victim continued to walk but Baliwen suddenly pulled her and covered her mouth using his palm. The victim shouted for help and bit the suspect’s thumb then ran towards their boarding house. She told her mother about the incident and they both sought help from two concerned citizens who eventually arrested the suspect who was turned over to Tublay MPS and a case is being prepared for referral to the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Theft
On September 10, 2018 at about 9:30 a.m., a case of theft transpired along Kalaw Street, Upper Session Road, Baguio City. Complainant is Garri Bringas Brillantes, 35, single, DSWD employee and a resident of Bangued Abra. Arrested suspect is Sonny Seguin Dela Cruz, 45, married, and a resident of Purok 8, Green Valley, Dontogan, Baguio City.
Investigation showed that complainant was walking along Kalaw Street when the suspect and his unidentified companion surreptitiously opened the back pack of the complainant and took his cellphone. However, his companion, Rufino Kilip Madlon, saw the incident so they arrested the suspect but the unidentified companion of Dela Cruz ran away. The iPhone 6S worth twenty thousand pesos that was recovered in the possession of Sonny Dela Cruz was positively identified by the complainant to be his cell phone. Case was referred to duty Inquest Prosecutor Ruth P. Bernabe who ordered the detention of the suspect at the Baguio City Jail.
Missing Person
Please be informed that on September 10, 2018 at around 10:40 AM, Mrs. Lieda Abellera, employee of Sangguniang Bayan, Kabayan, Benguet informed Kabayan MPS that she received a text message from Barangay Tawangan that somebody was declared missing. The missing person is Mr. Leonardo B. Carino, 32, married, farmer/driver and a native of Sitio Kalaykay, Tawangan, Kabayan. Mrs. Melanie B. Carino, 26, wife of the missing person averred that her husband was last seen in the morning of September 8, 2018.
Interview to other residents revealed that the missing person together with Mr. Patricio Alicnas attended a wake at Sitio Nanhabitan, Barangay Tawangan and left the place at about 10:50 AM of September 8, 2018 for home but when the duo were at Tawangan proper, the subject alighted from the motorcycle and bought gatorade in a store thereat because he was complaining stomach ache after which he went down to the house of Mr. Miguel Molitas (approximately 150 meters away from the road) to take personal necessity. Mrs. Paula Yap saw the person entering the comfort room wearing black leather jacket, white t-shirt, gray jogging pant and black rain boots. On the evening of September 8, 2018, relatives, friends and neighbors exert their efforts to locate the whereabouts of Mr. Leonardo but turned futile until this date, continuous search and rescue operation is being done. The wife added during the interview that her husband had no medical problem records, not taking alcoholic beverages and they have no family problem. Progress report to be followed.
