Militia ng Bayan surrenders
A laborer in Mountain Province identified as a member of Militia ng Bayan has returned to the folds of the law when he surrendered to the authorities in Sitio Dandanac, Tamboan, Besao, Mountain Province on the afternoon of June 19, 2021.
He was identified as alias “Tauli,” a 41-year old laborer who is a resident of Besao, Mountain Province and was under the group LOBO Og-ogbo.
Through the concerted efforts of Mountain Province police, RID PROCOR, RMFB15, RIU14, Philippine Army, and CIDG Mountain Province in conducting a series of peaceful negotiations, “Tauli” finally surrendered and decided to turn his back on the armed struggle for a more peaceful life.
“Tauli” expressed his willingness to withdraw his support to the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG). Authorities are now processing him to receive the benefits under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) to help him start anew. He is now temporarily staying in Besao MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
P72K worth of shabu seized in La Trinidad
A total of Php71,672.00 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a High Value Individual (HVI) who was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of PDEU/PIU–Benguet, Benguet PPO, La Trinidad MPS, RPDEU/RID-PROCOR, PDEG SOU-COR and PDEA Benguet on the afternoon of June 19, 2021 at Betag, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The suspect was identified as Jefferson Pinas Garcia aka “Kusil”, 25, mechanic, and a resident of La Trinidad, Benguet.
“Kusil” was arrested after selling suspected “shabu” weighing about 5.54 grams with Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 37, 672.00 to an undercover agent.
Further, during the course of arrest, an additional sachet containing suspected “shabu” weighing 5 grams with SDP of Php 34,000.00 and the buy-bust money were confiscated from him.
On-site inventory of the seized pieces of evidence was witnessed by Betag Barangay Captain Peter Comila; Denver Bastingo-media representative, and Prosecutor Elnora Mangallay, DOJ representative.
3 MJ sites discovered in Mtn. Prov.
PROCOR cops destroyed some 5,250 pieces of fully-grown Marijuana Plants and 8,500 grams of leaves & stalks with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php2,020,000.00 along the boundary of Barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mt Province and Brgy. Buscalan, Kalinga on the afternoon of June 15, 2021.
The marijuana eradication was launched by joint opetratives of the Provincial Intelligence Unit – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU); Mtn. Province PPO; PDEA Mountain Province; Regional Intelligence Division Cordillera (RID-COR); Provincial Investigation and Detection Management Unit (PIDMU) and the Provincial Operation and Management Unit (POMU) that resulted in the discovery of three clandestine marijuana farms.
In the first plantation site, operatives discovered about 3,000 fully grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 600,000.00 cultivated in a 150-square-meter land area, while in Site 2, additional 2,250 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with an SDP of Php 450,000.00, were discovered in a 250-square-meter lot.
Meanwhile, in Site 3, operating troops found Php1,020,000.00 worth of marijuana leaves & stalks hanged and being dried under the sun, all weighing 8,500 grams.
The discovered marijuana plants were destroyed on-site while only three pieces were brought to the Mtn. Province Crime Laboratory for qualitative examination.
