CPNP condoles with family of late PCol. Michael Bawayan Jr.
POLICE GENERAL GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, Chief of PNP, led the PNP officials and personnel during the internment of the late PCOL MICHAEL BAWAYAN JR., Provincial Director of Sulu PPO at the Pyramid Memorial Park, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet on August 14, 2021.
Full military honors were accorded to PCOL BAWAYAN JR., the flag-draped coffin carrying his remains was brought to his final resting place by bearers that included BAWAYAN’s classmates from the PNPA “Kaagapay” Class of 1996. The burial ceremony was accentuated by a 3-volley rifle salute and bugle taps according to prescribed police customs and tradition. Also, the internment rite was facilitated by PLTCOL REV. JONATHAN CHY, PROCOR Regional Pastoral Officer.
In his message, PGEN ELEAZAR, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family as he appreciated PCOL BAWAYAN’s dedication to service and love for the PNP during his term as Provincial Director in Sulu. Further, he promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of PCOL BAWAYAN to ensure that his sacrifices for the PNP organization will not be in vain.
As a remembrance and to symbolize the integrity, courage and faithful service of PCOL Bawayan to the country, PGEN ELEAZAR handed over the folded Philippine flag to Mrs. Catalina Bawayan, mother of the deceased.
Also, present during the ceremony were PNP Deputy Chief for Operation PLTGEN EPHRAIM T DICKSON, PRO-BAR Regional Director PBGEN EDEN UGALE, PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN RONALD LEE, and members of the PROCOR Command Group, National Support Groups, family, relatives and friends of PCOL BAWAYAN.
Laborer busted in Baguio City
Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet- PROCOR’s intensified war against illegal drugs led to the arrest of a High Value Individual in a buy-bust operation conducted in Outlook Drive, Baguio City on August 15, 2021.
Reports submitted to PBGEN RONALD OLIVER LEE, Regional Director, disclosed the identity of the suspect as Ariston Balao-as Acob, High Value Imdividual (HVI), 30 years old native of Ba-i Lagayan, Abra currently residing at San Vicente, Baguio City.
Suspect, Acob, was arrested by operatives of RPDEU/RID/RSOG together with Baguio CPO, and RIU 14 after he sold three (3) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected ‘’shabu’’ weighing 1 gram with an Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PHP 6,800.00 to an operative acting as poseur buyer.
In the course of his arrest, seized from his possession also are two (2) pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected ‘’shabu’’ weighing more or less 0.5 gram with an SDP of PHP 3,400.00.
Other confiscated evidence were marked money, boodle money, and a cellular phone used during the transaction.
Onsite inventory and markings of pieces of evidence recovered was conducted with the presence of Prosecutor Sigrid Canawil; Brgy. Kagawad Lorna Siruno of Outlook Drive; and Media Representative, Charles Nikko Limon thereafter; turned over to Crime Laboratory, BCPO for qualitative examination while charges for violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs of 2002 is being prepared for an inquest proceeding against the suspect.
PNP top cop visits Baguio City Police Office
As part of his visit to the Cordilleras, PNP Chief, PGEN GUILLERMO LORENZO T ELEAZAR, paid his first Command Visit to Baguio City Police Office in Abanao Street, Baguio City on August 15, 2021.
PGEN ELEAZAR was warmly greeted with a traditional welcome dance by the Baguio police. He was also accorded with Foyer Honors and was personally received by BCPO City Director, PCOL GLENN D LONOGAN.
As highlight of the program, the BCPO personnel with outstanding accomplishments were awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Medal of Merit). The awardees were PCPT RODOLFO G SERRAN, Station Commander of Pacdal Police Station; PLT FILMORE DR PASIWEN, Assistant Chief of Drug Enforcement Unit; PLT ROBERT W VELASCO, Deputy Station Commander of Naguilian Police Station; PCpl Floro A Camora, Pat Eugene A Tumaru, and Pat Edmar A Domyong.
During his Talk to the Men and Women of BCPO, PGEN ELEAZAR extended his congratulations to all the awardees and challenged all the personnel to continue their adherence to the PNP’s programs to gain the trust and confidence of the public.
In addition, he also emphasized the Intensified Cleanliness Policy (ICP), which is anchored on the “Broken Window Policy” and is aimed to correct minor and small problems in the service to prevent them from getting worse.
“The ICP is not only limited to cleaning police stations but this is also instilling discipline to every police officer,” he added.
Further, as part of his continuous efforts to check on the welfare of police officers on the lower units, PGEN ELEAZAR also conducted field visitx and inspections of the different police stations of BCPO to check on their current situation and ensure their adherence to the ICP. **
