LAGAWE, IFUGAO – – The provincial government under the leadership of Governor Jerry Dalipog is expanding its road network to connect its 11 towns. This will pave the way for the quicker movement of people, goods and services within the province. This will also provide access to the distant and underserved villages.
The provincial government has acquired a Php 69 million package of brand new, state-of-the-art fleet of heavy equipment consisting of two 20 ton capacity dump trucks , two 5 m³capacity dump trucks, two 0.56 m³ capacity backhoes, two 1.1 m³ capacity backhoes , two pay loaders, two bulldozers, two road rollers, a motor grader, a self-loading, lowbed truck and a water truck.It plans to build motor pool facilities in each of the two geographical districts of Ifugao.
The provincial government will fully utilize the equipment to boost economic growth. New roads will spur commercial activity and generate employment.They will bring about an improvement in the quality of life of all the people especially those who live in distant villages.
“We prioritize those who are really in need of these roads,” Dalipog said. “These roads are our investments for the future,” he added.
The governor vowed to push the construction of farm-to-market roads to further develop the agriculture sector.
The governor expects that these projects will be undertaken in strict compliance with regulations. Erring parties shall face the strong and firm hand of Governor Dalipog.
For starters, Dalipog has gone to great lengths to roll out the Mapawoy, Mayoyao to Montabiong, Lagawe connector road.
The project is a tangible evidence that a solid commitment can bring results.
“One thing we know about this governor is how committed he is to improving the
province’s roads and how to get it done,” former Board Member Samson Atluna said.
Surely, Governor Dalipog came prepared with a well-researched and well-planned action plan to solve the longstanding road problems in the province. In the past, his work as a civil engineer provided the primary impetus for the unprecedented development of Banaue town.** Anthony A. Araos
