The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Sabangan together with the Registry of Deeds (RoD), Mountain Province awarded agricultural land titles to qualified beneficiaries from the Municipalities of Sabangan and Bauko, Mountain Province in a joint activity held recently.
In partnership with the Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) of Sabangan and Bauko, the awarding of agricultural land titles was transparently administered. Along with the Monday ceremonial meeting of MLGU-Sabangan and Peoples Day in Bauko were the distribution of land titles. The personnel of the Licenses, Patents and Deeds Section (LPDS) of CENRO-Sabangan and the RoD Mountain Province led by Atty. Consuelo F. Filog, distributed the titles.
A total of 131 titles were awarded during the two-day activity. Of which, 76 land titles were for the Municipality of Sabangan with ten (10) recipient barangays. The barangays included Bun-ayan, Namatec, Tambingan, Napua, Supang, Poblacion, Losad, Data, Camatagan and Gayang. Barangay Data has the highest number of land title beneficiaries.
For the Municipality of Bauko, there were 55 agricultural free patents with fourteen (14) recipient barangays. These are Bila, Otucan Norte, Otucan Sur, Monamon Sur, Abatan, Tapapan, Poblacion, Maba-ay, Guinzadan Norte, Guinzadan Sur, Sadsadan, Banao, Mayag and Monamon Norte which has the biggest number of residents as recipients.
“The distribution of land titles is part of the “Handog Titulo” program of the government that seeks to address poverty, energize progress in communities and to develop the economic efficiency of the people, by accelerating the processing and issuance of public land patents to qualified beneficiaries,” Dominador Pa-ac said during the ceremonial awarding at the Sabangan Municipal ground.
Some issues raised during the activity were addressed by the DENR and RoD representatives led by Register of Deeds II Atty. Consuelo Filog, Land Management Officer II Dominador Pa-ac, Land Management Inspector Francis Bragado and Special Investigator Samson Cabfeng.**Elizabeth C. Atiteo
