BAUKO, Mtn. Prov.– The Abante Bauko Tour Guides Organization (ABaTGO) is a recipient of equipment and gadgets from the Philippines Red Cross. The turnover ceremony was conducted last Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Municipal Hall.
The equipment and gears amounting toP251,020.00 were funded by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) through the Philippines Red Cross –Mountain Province Chapter. The Basic Life Support with AED training costing P45,000.00 was conducted for the 24 members of the ABaTGO who completed and passed the training.
Robert Pangod, administrator of the Philippine Red Cross –Mountain Province, said that the training is a pre-requisite for the availment of the equipment and gears.
With the equipment and gears, he urged ABaTGO members to use them and advance the tourism endeavor of Bauko.
Pascual Sacgaca, chairman of the Philippine Red Cross–Mountain Province, urged the members of ABaTGO to udr the equipment with care so that they will last long.
“Let us get involved and make a difference in our community with the Red Cross”, he said
Mayor Abraham Akilit expressed appreciation for the donation and committed to provide a space where the equipment and gears will be kept to be retrieved only when needed.
“Let us help each other in promoting Bauko tourism”, he said referring to tourism as an economic agent due to its impacts on livelihoods and economic development.
ABaTGO President Paul Bill Mapangdol expressed appreciation to the Red Cross and the municipal government as he hopes for the establishment of events where the equipment and gadgets will be used.
Messages of support were given by the representatives of the municipal Bureau of Fire Protection, the municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Office of the Vice Mayor, Provincial Tourism Office, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.** Roger Sacyaten
