We scrimped, we cut back, and retreated into some corner away from the glare of the public. We just sheepishly let the time go, anxious of what the morrow would bring. Would we be still around? Would we be able to afford our survival needs?
Thinking of progress was so out of that world of the pandemic we just went through. While the virus might still have a fight left in it, to many of us, as if we are already over the hump.
So shall we now start planning for the future? Should we now think of progress of all sorts like material, intellectual, spiritual (especially now that we are in the Lenten season) or investing in new experiences such as visiting tourist spots we had been only hearing of?
While cautious people will always be in trepidation due to fear for the worst as hard lockdowns could still be imposed if the virus hits back again, the more adventurous would be looking at things now as windows of opportunity.
Yes, why don’t we awaken the more adventurous part of us and get into new projects or ventures? Why don’t we get on with plans before the pandemic to try new things whether in our careers, businesses or for the education of the kids?
Most of all, why should we be cowering in fear in a corner and just be at the mercy of fear for some disease or economic scourge when we can do a lot to beat or avoid such? Sure!!! Let us live healthier to beat any health threat and roll up our sleeves and work even more to avoid any economic downturn.
But though being gungho is great, let us maintain our wits about us and not just plunge into any promising offer or possibility no matter how stupid.**
