PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Two tourism projects funded by the provincial government were inaugurated last July 26, 2024 in this municipality.
The two (2) projects are the Welcome Arc in Pakak, Butigue, and the Sinma’bot View Deck in Sitio Sinma’bot, Anonat, both in this municipality.
The provincial government allotted amounts for the construction of the spaceship-patterned structure which is derived from the existing view deck in Barangay Bayyo, Bontoc, and the Welcome Arc at the boundary of the Alfonso Lista, Ifugao and Paracelis, Mountain Province.
Included in the inauguration were the PLGU-funded projects that were implemented in Barangays Anonat, Palitud, and Butigue,
During the program, the historical facts before the conceptualization of the projects as well as the engineering designs and plans were narrated to the admiration of those in attendance.
Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan said that all the projects implemented were meant as demonstrations of his Barangay Muna program. “The fulfillment of the projects was without your cooperation and support”, he told the audience.
The Barangay Captains, in unison, expressed their appreciation for the projects. They also expect more projects to come to their areas of responsibility. The Barangay Captains were Norberto Felix, Jr of Anonat, Russe; De Guzman Capua, Sr. of Butigue, and Larry Carpio of Palitud, all of Paracelis.
Other attendees were Board Members Federico Onsat and Joshua Fronda, Mayor Marcos Ayangwa, Vice Mayor Djarma Rafael, Councilors, and some members of the communities.
The view deck in Sinma’bot which overlooks Roxas and other municipalities of Isabela sits on the Natonin Forest Reserve, a spacious area of mounds and hills called so because it was granted to Natonin before the creation of Paracelis as a distinct and separate municipality.
“These projects, including the Barlig Eagle structure, are testaments to our resolve to promote tourism in the eastern part of the province”, Governor Lacwasan added.** Roger Sacyaten
