When the intelligence funds for VP Sara Duterte were realigned to other agencies, it apparently ruffled some feathers especially those of her father. Suddenly, there were talks of some destabilization by some retired generals whom PRRD admitted to have just alked to.
Then there was Sen. Imee Marcos saying that she was sticking by the vice president. This was in relations to the very public spats between the latter and Speaker Martin Romualdez who is the cousin of the President and Sen. Imee. So what is going on?
Later, the vice president said she was not anymore interested in having confidential funds.
Then the high profile statements about the International Criminal Court (ICC) from which the country withdrew due to their moves to investigate PRRD’s war on drugs. PBBM said regioning it should be studied. This was made more interesting by the posting of bail by former Senator Leila Delima. She is now very vocal in supporting the ICC’s move to investigate PRRD.
So why the cooling off of VP Sara’s interest on her confidential funds? Did Sen. Imee talk sense into her head to patiently wait for a while and she would have the presidency? Will Sen. Imee be her vice president?
And then the destabilization appeared to have cooled down.
So what’s the deal? For VP Sara to become the president, Sen. Imee the vice president and the Speaker as senate president?
Behind all these is the fact that the vice president is just one bullet away from the presidency?
Can the Marcoses hold the ICC as a sword of Damocles over PRRD’s head and those of his cabal?
Certainly, the Marcoses have in mind their extended family’s hold on the nation’s reigns. Without a contrary force like the Dutertes, they can do as they please. Martial Law can even be declared again. A Duterte 2 would be no problem for them. They have their younger generation members to become the political leaders after that.
The point is that these people are just looking after their interests. We should also just do the same but we should stand on our owned and not become their political lackeys’. Or anybody else’s for that matter.**
