We ride on with the Alex Eala mania. In her last game in Wimbledon against Maya Joint who earlier defeated her in a heartbreaking manner, it appeared she would be defeated again, at least after the first set which she lost 6-3. But with grit, determination and better play, she came back, winning the second set 6-2. She pursued the momentum in the third set, murdering her opponent 6-0 to win the match.
That was the game. The more important thing though is what we should learn from it. In real life, even if you are at a great disadvantage, with grit or determination and better strategy, we can also come from behind and end up being the winners. That was the moral of the story.
In case you missed it, the universe or the whole of creation conspired to facilitate Eala’s win. If you are so determined that’s what happens. But if you are negative minded, thinking that things are hopeless, then they will really be that, hopeless. “Kung nakasimangot ka, sisimangot din ang mundo sa yo.”
Against all odds, let us be positive then bravely face the world, mustering all the lessons we learned in the past, and applying these with all positivity, to whatever task or situation at hand.**
