How lucky are we that typhoon Inday only managed to graze us with its tail. The former super typhoon did not land on our shores but just look how vulnerable we are. Classes were suspended in many regions as education is disrupted and flooding again became our enemy. Even when the storm did not land, the disruption felt by the people remains significant.
What more if the storm managed to land on our shores. The damage done would be immense and the disruption to people’s lives would be enough to destroy any progress they have made into improving their situations in life.
Amidst all the drama in the government and all the shenanigans pulled out by people in power, let us continue to remember the scandals that have caused many common people to be defenseless.
The storm has only managed to graze us and perhaps that is only a warning for the next one that would land on our shores. When that time comes how many houses would be destroyed and lives upturned. Let us continue to remember the root cause of all this. Continue to bring attention to the flood control scandals. Advocate for accountability. Because lives will be lost and the culprits remain outside bars.**
