Marketing can be so dangerous. If done well, it can manage to trick a population into thinking soft drinks are not that dangerous. That smoking is mandatory for men. And it can help a person that is not qualified nor deserving to becoming president. If left unchecked and without the necessary education and being informed, a population can be controlled by corporations through marketing and clever advertisements.
We are now seeing so much gambling ads online with all sorts of celebrities in little clothing, attractive promises of wealth, and all sorts of alluring figures. The frequencies in which they appear is absurd.
If left to their own devices, these corporations can exploit a very vulnerable Filipino population. It is not as if Filipinos are well off and living well that they do not need to risk gambling, many are starving and desperate, perfect for a well-done advertisement to dupe them into risking it all.
The population is in need of protection. It does not matter if the person is aware of the negativities gambling can bring, marketing will find a way to dupe that person. Advertisements are dangerous and a well-done marketing will ruin peoples’ lives. **
