CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Dec. 16 (PIA)– The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) field office in the province recently released financial assistance to beneficiaries of three of its programs.
Laylah Edduba, focal person on special projects, said checks amounting to PhP20,000.00 each were released to 28 former rebels or their dependents from the different municipalities under its Livelihood Settlement Grant (LSG).
Eleven other beneficiaries were given educational assistance at PhP5,000.00 each while others are on process.
Edduba said assisted livelihood projects under LSG are sari-sari store, carabao raising, feeds and rice retailing, duck/chicken raising, soft broom making, portable rice mill operation and purchase of carpentry tools.
The DSWD-Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) is also currently distributing payout to 171 proponents of the Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG) in conflict vulnerable/affected barangays of Tabuk City (65 beneficiaries), Rizal (45), Lubuagan (31), and Tinglayan (30) and targeted to be completed before Christmas Day.
Macfarlyne Bumosao, LAG focal person, said that the pay out is being done directly in the barangays of which each beneficiary receives PhP15,000.00 capital for a proposed livelihood project.
Meanwhile, DSWD-SWAD released payment of its labor counterpart under its 10 days cash for work for the Risk Resiliency Program on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (PCCAM) for Disaster Risk and Reduction for Rizal, Lubuagan and Tabuk City beneficearies. Beneficiaries were paid PhP240.00 per day or 75% of the regional minimum wage rate for 10 days work.
Still to receive their pay are recipients from Tinglayan which is under lockdown.
Ivy Mariano, PCCAM focal person, said a total of PhP5,635,200.00 is allotted for the total 2,348 beneficiaries in the province.
