Alleged Homicide
On August 5, 2018 at about 3:41 AM, an alleged homicide transpired along Saint Bernadette Street, Dominican-Mirador Extension, Baguio City, particularly between house no. 170 and 168, where the victim Erwin Mayamay Cueno, male, 46 years old, and resident of Atok, Benguet, was found dead at the driver seat of a taxi cab described as an Innova with trade name MILL-THER Taxi with license plate no. AYV 324 registered in the name of Theresa Oloan.
Responding personnel of Station 1 were able to arrest the suspect who identified himself as Zaldy Matalang Cuycuydo, male, 19 years old, single, grade 7, laborer, and a resident of Better Living, Bakakeng, Baguio City, who was seen inside the said taxi with blood on his t-shirt and maong pants.
Initial findings of the members of Baguio City Emergency Medical Service revealed that the victim (taxi driver) sustained a laceration on the back of his head and suffered blood loss.
Investigator on Case (IOC) together with the SOCO team led by PCI JULIET ALBON recovered one (1) hammer with blood stains on top of the front passenger seat, believed to be the weapon used in hitting the victim’s head. Likewise, personal belongings of the suspect were recovered. The cash collection of the victim was still intact.
Adultery
At about 7:30 PM of August 5, 2018, Kervin Alcantara Danao, 37 years old, male, married, carpenter and a resident of Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga went to Tabuk CPS asking for police assistance with regards to a case of adultery committed by his wife, Noemi Gay Ewag Danao, 31 years old, housewife, student and a resident of Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga and Jhun Ubiar, male, legal age, married, singer at MJK restaurant and businessman and a resident of Appas, Tabuk City, Kalinga that transpired at about 7:15 PM of August 5, 2018 at Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Investigation conducted by personnel of Tabuk CPS revealed that the son of the complainant told him that he saw his mother at John’s Barber Shop with Jhun Ubiar and because of his anger the complainan went directly to the said barbershop located at Purok 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga and punched Jhun Ubiar.
Complainant further disclosed that he had been hearing rumors that that his wife and Jhun Ubiar were having an illicit affair. Furthermore, he reported that this is not only the first time. Earlier, his wife, Noemi Gay Danao was allegedly involved with another guy named Allen Tawagon but for the sake of their children, he forgave his wife and gave her another chance.
Respondents were arrested and detained at the Tabuk CPS. A formal complaint was being prepared for filing.
Theft (pickpocket)
At about 6:20 PM of August 3, 2018, a case of theft transpired along Upper Mabini St., Baguio City particularly in front of 5 Cents-Up. The victim was identified as Zea May Dela Cruz Pascual, 18, single, student, native of Kalinga, and a resident at No. 6065, Purok 6, Kias, Baguio City and the suspects were identified as Catherine Trige De Guzman, 29, single, unemployed, and a resident of San Antonio, Aurora Hill, Baguio City, and a 15-year old male CICL, single, OSY, native of Guinsadan, Bauko, Mtn. Province, and a resident of Balsigan, Baguio City.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was walking and holding a bag containing school supplies when the male CICL bumped her on the side and her bag fell to the ground. When she was picking-up her belongings, she sensed that somebody took something inside her bag. She glanced and saw the said male CICL holding her cellphone. She shouted at the minor suspect and he immediately returned her cellphone. She also saw Catherine De Guzman holding her wallet and was leaving quickly. She chased De Guzman while shouting for help and concerned citizens caught the suspects. The victim’s cellphone described as Samsung Duos worth Php9,000.00 and her wallet containing assorted savings/debit cards, IDs, one piece of 5 wu jiao Chinese bill, one piece of two dollars Singapore bill, and cash amounting to Php1,170.00 were recovered from Catherine De Guzman. Case was for filing.
