PROCAR arrests two top most wanted and seven other wanted personalities in intensified manhunt ops
Two top-most wanted persons at the provincial and municipal levels, along with seven other wanted individuals, were arrested as the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) sustained its intensified anti-criminality campaign on August 12, 2026.
The one-day manhunt operation resulted in the arrest of the No. 3 Provincial Top Most Wanted Person (TMWP) of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office (PPO), who was wanted for Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act No. 7610. Also arrested was the No. 2 Municipal-Level TMWP of the Tabuk City Police Station, Kalinga PPO, who was wanted for two counts of Qualified Rape of a Minor.
Additionally, seven other wanted individuals include four apprehended by the Benguet PPO, two by the Baguio City Police Office, and one by the Kalinga PPO. They were arrested for different offenses, including Acts of Lasciviousness, Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Damage to Property, Estafa, and Theft.

Swift response in time of need: Baguio cops and firefighters assist elderly woamn
Police officers of Police Station 2 of the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) demonstrated true public service when they swiftly acted on an urgent request for assistance from an elderly resident of Barangay Pinsao Pilot, Baguio City, on August 9, 2026.
The woman’s husband sought immediate help for his wife, who was suffering from severe dizziness and vomiting. Responding without hesitation, PCpl Michael John Viray of PSBRC Class 2017-01 “Sagip Lahi” and Pat Yolanda Calaoa of PSBRC Class 2023-01 “Balagsik”, both proud officers hailing from Mountain Province, arrived on the scene to assess the situation.
Recognizing the urgency of the woman’s condition, the officers immediately coordinated with the Bureau of Fire Protection – Baguio City Fire Station (FS). Baguio City FS medics administered initial medical treatment on-site before carefully transporting her to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center where for further evaluation, given her underlying history of hypertension and heart failure.
As of presstime, the woman has been discharges from the hospital and is now resting at home.
The swift response of the police officers and firefighters reflects the commitment of government frontliners to serve and protect, particularly during times when immediate assistance can make a difference in saving lives.
