new RD PROCOR installed
The Director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Northern Luzon (DIPO-NL) Police Director Eric Serafin Reyes presided the Change of Command Ceremony for the Regional Director of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) and the Retirement Honors for outgoing Regional Director, Police Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet this afternoon.
During the ceremony, the new PROCOR Regional Director, PCSUPT Israel Ephraim T Dickson assumed the post which the outgoing Regional Director relinquished.
PROCOR has recognized the faithful and dedicated service of PCSupt Rolando Nana for serving the PNP. “Medalya Ng Paglilingkod” was awarded to him for having completed 37 years, 11 months and 14 days of honorable service to the Philippine National Police from April 1,1981 to March 15, 2019.
He also received “Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod” for rendering service as acting Regional Director of PROCOR for two months and in full capacity as Regional Director for seven months. During his stint, he implemented policing strategies to strengthen the operational capability of PROCOR in pursuit of the PNP’s organizational thrust to serve and protect.
A plaque of appreciation was also presented for his invaluable service to the PNP that contributed to the overall accomplishment of the mission and objectives of the PNP which earned distinct honor and credit not only for himself, but also for the PNP. Likewise, same citation was given to his spouse Arlene for her unselfish and faithful devotion and support for her partner in life which made possible her husband’s lasting contribution to the PNP.
During his speech, PCSupt Nana thanked the men and women of PROCOR for the support extended to him during his stint in this highest police regional office. He also expressed gratitude to the Chief, PNP for allowing him to work with the good police officers of PROCOR before he got to retire.
“Let us consider this day as a benchmark for Police Regional Office Cordillera. I believe that PROCOR will continue to grow and fulfill its mandates through the new leadership. Keep up the good work, you’ve been a wonderful team to work with,” he added.
He also congratulated all the personnel of PROCOR because his vow during his assumption which is to decrease the crime rate in line with the Chief, PNP’s directives to curb criminality, corruption and illegal drugs was realized.
In the message of Director Reyes, he recalled his experiences when he was first assigned in the Cordilleras. He thanked all PROCOR personnel for the warm welcome accorded to him.
Police Director Reyes congratulated the new Regional Director and thanked the outgoing director for his almost 38 years in service.
Meanwhile, newly installed regional director Police Chief Superintendent Israel Ephraim Dickson has vowed to remove the stigma and transform Abra into a peaceful and safe province during the conduct of elections. He also said that under his leadership the regional office would continue and relentlessly support the President’s war on illegal drugs.
He also said that “scalawags” will not be tolerated under his term and reminded everyone to maintain transparency and accountability.
PROCOR nabs 3 drug users, destroys P21.5M of MJ
The strong determination of PROCOR to combat illegal drugs in the region resulted in the arrest of three drug users and the destruction of P21.5M worth of marijuana plants.
Over the weekend, three drug users were arrested after they were caught in a pot session at the school building construction in Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga in the afternoon of March 16, 2019.
Tabuk CPS identified the suspects as Jerry Mamawag Magdula, 38; Pedro Malabat Tagupa, 30; and Jomel Ramoran Tallod, 37, all construction workers and residents of Angngadanan, Isabela.
Taken from the suspects are one heat sealed small transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Moreover, Php21,520,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed at Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga during the 3-day marijuana eradication on March 13-15, 2019.
During the implementation of the Oplan Linis Barangay VIII, 107,600 pieces of fully grown marijuana planted on a 5,650 square meter land was uprooted and burned on site by the joint operating troops of Tinglayan MPS, Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Mobile Force Company of Kalinga PPO, and agents of the PDEA Cordillera.
Authorities will continue to wage war against illegal drugs to be able to clear all drug-affected barangays regionwide especially in the province of Kalinga.
