Was the reported presence of Covid-19 omicron variant cases in Baguio City designed to scare the people or to condition them into accepting hard lockdowns again after the elections on May 9?
Or was the reporting of omicron variant cases meant to force people to undergo swab tests and other kinds of tests which will enrich those whose business is providing services in administering the tests and selling the materials, including chemicals and medicines, required for such?
Rumors are rife that some politicians and/or their relatives and cronies had been raking in lots of profits from such a business.
Then there was the requirement of antigen tests.
As exposed last February by a local paper, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chided the Baguio City government for aggressively promoting and selling ICHROMA COVID-19 AG TEST, an anti-gen self -test kit.
These were being used by district health centers around the city.
It turned out though that the promotion and sale thereof was in violation of the law as there was no authorization therefor by the FDA.
The interesting question, however, is: Who was making money from the sale to the city and to the masses of such antigen test kits?
Was there a conflict of interest in the city’s promotion and usage of these?
People were dying of COVID-19 and yet some people were making a lot of money by taking advantage of the situation. Its called making a living from the miseries or sufferings of others, even to the extent of committing illegal acts like the sale of medical materials without FDA authority.
So the final question we foist to the public is, were those who were supposed to be taking care of our welfare—in our very bad situation when people were dying—were actually making huge profits from the people? **
